By Charlotte Duncker MEN 6 AUG 2017 A stake of Manchester United could be sold to a mystery Chinese buyer, according to reports in The Sunday Times. The Glazer family owns control around 80 percent of the club, while the rest is held by investment funds in New York and London. But, that could be about to change according to the report. It claims negotiators acting for a billionaire Asian investor have contacted some of United's independent shareholders over a deal to buy part of the club. The Glazer family have owned the club since 2005 but there are a persistent rumours some of the family are also ready to sell their stakes. Although the report states the Glazer's have no interest in selling the entirety of the club, three of the six Glazer siblings are said to be interested in a sale.
